What You’ll Do
The CNC Machinist is accountable for setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines to produce parts according to engineering drawings, following set operating procedures. The ideal candidate will review parts for measurement compliance and adjust offsets as needed.
Essential Functions
* Work closely with the pre-setter to ensure tooling is correctly set up.
* Set & operate CNC machines according to program and work instructions via DNC link.
* Load tooling into CNC machines as appropriate.
* Check the accuracy of the first off and subsequent parts using measurement tools.
* Adjust offsets to correct errors.
* Obtain & maintain “A Stamp” approval status for machines and processes.
* Inspect work of team members when required.
* Work independently to resolve issues following company procedures.
* Apply lean principles and participate in Kaizen events.
* Be flexible and adaptable to work on different machines and assist colleagues.
* Maintain TPM on machines.
Qualifications
* Experience in setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and understand geometric tolerancing.
* Proficiency with measurement tools and techniques.
* Good computer literacy.
* Experience in the aerospace industry is advantageous.
* Knowledge of COSHH and safety procedures.
* Qualified as an apprentice or similar experience in machining.
Hours of Work
* Two-week rotating shift pattern, 37 hours per week.
* Monday to Thursday 6am-2pm, Friday 6am-11am.
* Monday to Thursday 2pm-10pm, Friday 11am-4pm.
