We are seeking a People & Culture Assistant to join our team. In role, you will play a part in shaping the human resources policies and practices that align with our organisational goals and values. The ideal candidate will want to learn the foundations and fundamentals of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. As a People & Culture Assistant, you will support the HR department in implementing effective HR strategies that enhance employee engagement and foster a positive workplace culture. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: To provide HR and administrative support for all recruitment and induction processes, in order to ensure vacancies are suitably filled and new employees introduced to the business in a timely and efficient manner. Including developing job descriptions with hiring managers, preparing job adverts, shortlisting, interviewing, selecting candidates and preparation of contracts. Report on HR/People metrics Learn to manage all frontline HR queries Help to guide and educate managers and employees in the policies and procedures Support the management of the administration of payroll, benefits and HSE system monthly. Administration of the HRIS (BambooHR) including Personnel files Administration of Leaver and return to work Processes To support manage employee probationary periods with the line manager and individual. Occupational Health Surveillance programme To help facilitate and drive completion of the annual performance review process, ensuring all meetings take place, are documented, and objectives / development needs are captured. HSE Support for client portal reviews and Inspections. Creation of the monthly HR/People newsletter to all employees Travel to other UK locations to meet and speak with DYWIDAG employees Liaise with external training providers and support with courses for employees To provide support with the Head of People and Culture to line managers on matters relating to disciplinary, performance, sickness absence, ensuring understanding of HR policy, and the correct process is followed. To contribute to the provision of advice and support for organisational change, including liaison and negotiation with employees. Maintain and develop strong employee and manager relationships EXPERIENCE: Work experience within a corporate setting Excel ability and understanding Ability to handle confidential information Good communication skills both verbally and written Organisation skills: Can manage own time and prioritise workload.
