Overview
TipTopJob, a trusted eco-conscious multidisciplinary consultancy, is expanding with a new office in Dunfermline. As Principal Civil Engineer, you will lead a newly established design engineering team and oversee the delivery of diverse infrastructure projects across the region.
Responsibilities
* Overseeing a number of projects and developments
* Managing the day-to-day running of projects at all stages of the process, from inception through to successful delivery and implementation
* Providing mentorship and support to colleagues as they progress, overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Building and maintaining important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
* Preparing, checking, and submitting reports, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and other technical documents
* Subscribing to and promoting company policies, procedures, and best practice
* Enforcing the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
* Contributing to the company’s business development strategies, acting as a trusted representative at client meetings, site visits, and other events
Required skills and experience
* A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or a similar, relevant discipline)
* Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)
* Extensive experience in a design-based role, within a UK consultancy setting
* Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (particularly drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy projects
* Experience of earthworks design and drainage network modelling
* Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.)
* Considerable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports and other technical documents for submission
* Experience of leading people and projects within the sector
* Prior experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
* Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience
* UK Masters Degree (or equivalent qualification)
* Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
* Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
* Experience of working in a public-facing role
