Are you a talented Lead Engineer with a knack for electrical equipment? Do you thrive in a supportive yet fast-paced environment?
As a Lead Engineer, you'll direct the daily activities of the shift teams engaged in breakdown and preventative maintenance for the plant, maximising plant reliability, performance, product quality, and safety.
The Role
You'll ensure the plant is safe to operate and maintain, and that personnel conform to health and safety legislation, policies, and standards. You will lead the engineering team to support daily operations by delivering planned and reactive maintenance to meet engineering KPIs. Working within a Business-led engineering reliability strategy, you'll utilize SAP PM effectively and maintain equipment in compliance with food safety legislation. Additionally, you'll support the recruitment, motivation, and development of the engineering team to achieve their goals and targets.
* Structured and practical engineering training (e.g., apprenticeship/HNC/degree).
* Knowledge and experience of maintenance in an FMCG environment.
* Knowledge of H&S/Food Safety systems and legislation, e.g., PUWER, IOSH, ensuring a safe working environment.
* IT and PC proficiency, including widespread functions within relevant software (e.g., Office and SAP).
* Effective communication skills, capable of developing long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
* Coaching and mentoring skills, with responsibility for training and coaching others.
* Influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to maintain attention and develop persuasive arguments.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, anticipating issues and identifying solutions swiftly.
* Project management skills to create effective plans, identify risks, and monitor progress.
* Decisiveness, considering wider risks and implications.
* Understanding of cost management to improve profitability and monitor engineering budgets.
* Leadership skills to inspire performance, manage performance issues, and foster trust within the team.
