GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and adaptable SEND Teacher to join a nurturing and inclusive school environment in Newcastle, where personalised learning and pupil wellbeing are at the heart of everything. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to support and inspire students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech, and language difficulties, and more.
Responsibilities of the SEND Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with EHCPs and varied SEND profiles.
* Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that meets each pupil's emotional and academic needs.
* Use a range of strategies and resources to support communication, sensory regulation, and social development.
* Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and parents to implement individual learning plans (ILPs).
* Monitor and assess pupil progress, adjusting teaching approaches to support growth.
* Foster independence, confidence, and a love of learning in every child.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or relevant teaching qualification.
* Experience working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
* Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching methods.
* Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, creativity, and a nurturing mindset.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
