Hays is partnering with a leading London local authority to recruit a Senior Valuation Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high‑performing property team responsible for managing, valuing and optimising a diverse and high‑profile portfolio across the borough.Your new role
As Senior Valuation Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely valuations to support strategic decision‑making across the council. You will work across a broad range of asset types—including operational buildings, commercial investments, land, and development opportunities—providing professional advice that directly contributes to the borough's long‑term financial sustainability.You will be responsible for:
* Undertaking RICS‑compliant valuations for statutory, financial reporting and strategic purposes
* Managing a varied caseload of operational and investment assets
* Providing professional advice on acquisitions, disposals, and asset reviews
* Supporting the development and implementation of asset management strategies
* Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external partners and senior leadership
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced valuation professional with:
* MRICS qualification and Registered Valuer status.
* Strong experience producing valuations across multiple asset classes
* Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills
* A proactive, solution‑focused approach and the confidence to influence decision‑makers
* Previous public‑sector experience is desirable but not essential.
