Location: Central Bedfordshire College - Dunstable Kingsway Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (Pro‑Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro‑Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note - Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 30 hours per week - 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent - Part Time

About the role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Early Years to join our Health, Social Care and Childcare department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Teaching & Student Support - Deliver engaging lessons across a range of Early Years programmes and levels, provide tutorials, and support students to achieve their full potential through high‑quality learning experiences.
* Curriculum Development & Innovation - Prepare and review schemes of work, contribute to new course development, and integrate vocational opportunities to enhance student learning and employability.
* Assessment & Quality Assurance - Assess student work to awarding body standards, monitor progress, maintain records, and implement quality processes including feedback and course reviews.
* Collaboration & Professional Engagement - Work effectively with colleagues, mentor new staff, attend meetings across campuses, and support promotional events such as open days and careers conventions.
* Statutory Responsibilities & Values - Uphold safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and participate in ongoing training and development, ensuring all actions reflect The Bedford College Group's values and policies.
About you
* Qualifications & Teaching Expertise - Holds a relevant subject qualification at least one level above the course taught and a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed), with experience delivering T‑Level Early Years programmes.
* Sector Knowledge & Experience - Demonstrates strong understanding of Early Years and Health & Social Care teaching, with recent experience in both education and industry settings.
* Professional & Technical Skills - Excellent classroom management, communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills, alongside strong numeracy and IT proficiency (Microsoft Office).
* Adaptability & Collaboration - Able to work independently and within a team, manage workload under pressure, meet deadlines, and build professional relationships across the college.
* Values & Safeguarding Commitment - Works in line with The Bedford College Group's values and policies, including safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety, with flexibility to travel and adapt working hours as needed.
