Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children in the classroom?
Teaching Personnel is seeking passionate and committed Teaching Assistants to work across a range of schools in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. We have opportunities in mainstream primary and secondary schools, as well as in specialist settings, offering both short-term and long-term placements.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, your role is vital in helping pupils thrive both academically and personally. You will work alongside teachers and other school staff to create a supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons
Working with small groups or 1:1 with pupils who may need additional support
Assisting children with special educational needs (SEN), including those with EHCPs
Helping to manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
Supporting with reading, writing, and numeracy activities
Supervising pupils during break times or on educational trips
Assisting with administrative tasks, such as preparing resources and displays
Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teachers

✅ What we’re looking for:
Experience working with children or young people in an educational or childcare setting is essential
A good understanding of the school environment and the ability to follow direction
Confidence working with pupils with varying needs, including SEN, SEMH, or behavioural challenges
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive and flexible approach – no two days are the same!
A full UK driving licence and access to a car is desirable, or a willingness to travel to schools in different locations
