We are currently recruiting an IT Technician to join our team based in Skelmersdale. This role involves providing technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and software, managing network and server environments, and supporting end-users with technical issues via help desk requests. You will also play a key role in maintaining the security and continuity of IT services to support our business operations.
What we need from you:
* Full driving license
* Good understanding of computer hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows, Linux)
* Proficiency in network troubleshooting and administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
* Experience with server management, including Active Directory, Windows Server, and virtualization (Hyper-V)
* Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
* Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and implement solutions
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with non-technical users and documenting processes
* Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to users with varying IT knowledge levels
* Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Attention to detail in maintaining system documentation and following procedures
* Strong teamwork skills for collaboration across departments
* Customer-focused approach with a commitment to high-quality support
* Willingness to learn new technologies and improve technical skills continually
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are a plus
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT support or technician role
