This is an exciting opportunity for a child and adolescent psychiatrist to join one of our well-established, diverse, and supportive CAMHS teams.
Fostering and Adoption Kinship Care Team (FAKCT) is a CAMHS service supporting children and young people's emotional wellbeing needs with evidence-based therapeutic interventions. FAKCT comprises a varied multi-disciplinary team, staffed by experienced CAMHS clinicians including educational psychologists, child psychotherapists, social workers, systemic family therapists, refugee care specialists, and trainees from those disciplines.
FAKCT is part of the Child Complex Service within the Complex Mental Health Service Line. We work closely with partners from referring local authorities, schools, and voluntary agencies.

Main duties of the job
1. Provide psychiatric contribution to the multidisciplinary team including consultation and support.
2. Attend weekly team meetings and contribute to Assessment Clinics.
3. Provide psychiatric assessments, including risk assessment, in various settings as required.
4. Participate in Mental Health Act assessments during working hours when needed.
5. Offer consultation to team members regarding cases and provide psychiatric input.
6. Manage a caseload of high-complexity cases, usually jointly with team members, and prescribe psychopharmacology when appropriate.
7. Produce accessible psychiatric reports for multiagency use to aid service planning.
8. Contribute to data collection, audit, quality improvement, and outcome monitoring.
9. Deliver medical and non-medical interventions, join multidisciplinary reviews, and develop co-created care plans.
10. Participate actively in the senior staff group and undertake leadership and service development duties as required.

Our Education and Training Directorate offers training for clinicians, social workers, nurses, teachers, and other professionals, ensuring courses are relevant, transformative, and empowering.
Within the Trust, there are three service lines: Camden, Child and Family Unit, and Adult Services. The FAKCT team is part of the Child and Family Unit. The Trust comprises 30 multidisciplinary teams providing services from pre-birth to age 25, with expertise in various treatment modalities including psychoanalytic psychotherapy, CBT, systemic therapy, and other specialist interventions.
