Role: Domestic Abuse Outreach Practitioner
Location: Slough (Hybrid – 3 days in office/community, 2 from home)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £14 – £18 per hour (depending on pay status)
Start Date: Within 2 weeks’ notice
Duration: 3-month temporary contract (with strong possibility of extension)
Essential: Previous experience working with victims of domestic abuse
Our client is a well-established organisation providing specialist support services to individuals experiencing domestic abuse. They are seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Practitioner to join their team and deliver high-quality support to standard to medium risk victims in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to victims of domestic abuse in the community and in their own homes.
Manage a caseload of approximately 25 clients, addressing practical and emotional needs including housing, substance misuse, mental health, and those with No Recourse to Public Funds.
Conduct risk and needs assessments (including CAADA DASH RIC) and develop tailored safety and support plans.
Work collaboratively with key partner agencies including Police, Probation, and Social Services.
Advocate on behalf of clients to secure housing and access to services.
Signpost and support clients to engage with additional support networks.Requirements:
Proven experience supporting victims of domestic abuse within DA services or related fields such as social services or supported housing.
Strong experience in key working and case management.
Skilled in developing support plans and conducting risk and needs assessments, with a sound understanding of safeguarding.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexible and proactive approach to working within a hybrid model.
DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the update service.
