We’re recruiting for a Semi Senior Accountant for an expanding local accountancy practice, the main purpose of the role is to support a varied client portfolio with VAT returns, cloud bookkeeping and accounts preparation. This is a busy, client-facing role suited to someone studying AAT (or qualified by experience) with at least 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
Duties include:
Compile and file VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC rules and submission deadlines.
Keep accurate bookkeeping for a portfolio of client accounts using cloud-based systems such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
Support month-end and year-end close activities, collating figures and schedules for review by senior team members.
Help clients meet MTD for ITSA requirements, including maintaining digital records and completing quarterly updates.
Act as a day-to-day contact for clients, developing strong, long-term working relationships. Assist with preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships across a wide range of sectors.
Role requirements:
* Actively studying AAT or qualified by experience
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice handling similar assignments.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
