Equans is looking for a Senior Technical Services Manager (Electrical) to join our team in Wakefield on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Senior Technical Manager is to be based at Pinderfields and Pontefract (P&P) hospitals. The role holder will report to the Head of Technical Services and lead the team of technical managers, supervisors and operatives in providing the technical service delivery across P & P. This includes maintaining effective and efficient mechanical, electrical, building fabric and project management services. Core elements will include health and safety, communication at all levels, statutory compliance within the span of control, and adherence to financial targets.
What will you deliver?
* Provide leadership, ensuring contractual commitments are met and exceeded.
* Be the custodian and champion of a respectful workplace and lead the teams with respect and dignity.
* Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of the contract are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability.
* Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the contract.
* Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions and that both clients and the company health and safety policy and process are effectively implemented across both EQUANS and subcontracted activities and are regularly reviewed.
* Oversee management of respective Technical Managers and systems.
* Lead and support agreed technical safety working groups.
* Responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards.
* Drive digitalisation and modernising working practices which demonstrate industry‑leading best practice.
* Maintain compliance fully up to date from technical managers.
* Deliver Monthly KPI evidence and promote harmonised team working.
* Allow Technical Managers (Elec, Mech & Fabric) to run and concentrate on BAU, acting as the lead interface between client communications.
* Ensure the contract is staffed by fully competent teams, ensuring post holders are fully competent and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place.
* Work with their reports to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective team working and support to colleagues.
* Provide leadership in both the context of the technical services team at P&P and the wider region if required.

Who are we looking for?
* Extensive technical competence in Electrical and/or Mechanical disciplines.
* Previous management experience leading technical services delivery in a healthcare or critical services environment.
* An understanding of alternative maintenance regimes.
* Carrying out technical monitoring, audits and reviews.
* Preparation of technical reports.
* Managing a planned preventative maintenance system.
* Maintaining record systems.
* Management of sub‑contractors.
* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
