Chesa Marchetta is the second hotel from Artfarm, the international hospitality group behind the award-winning Fife Arms hotel in Braemar, Scotland, the famous Groucho Club in Soho, London, as well as top restaurants including Manuela in LA and NYC, Mount Street in Mayfair, London and Fish Shop in Ballater, Scotland and Washington DC. Duties and Responsibilities The Deputy General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing the full operation of the hotel to ensure an excellent guest experience, a productive and fair work environment, and strong commercial performance. You will be operational throughout the hotel, upholding and improving service standards, ensuring legal and safe working practices, and supporting strategic growth and team engagement. To be eligible for this role you must have the right to work in Switzerland and be able to work full time at the property. Operational Leadership Work alongside the General Manager to manage day-to-day hotel operations across all departments (Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Events, Maintenance). Ensure smooth, efficient operational delivery and compliance with hotel standards and policies. Actively participate in duty management and cover leadership responsibilities when the General Manager is absent. Guest Experience & Service Excellence Maintain and enhance guest satisfaction by ensuring consistently high service standards. Handle and resolve guest issues or complaints professionally and swiftly. Engage with guests regularly to build rapport and promote loyalty. Team Leadership & People Development Lead, coach, and develop Heads of Departments and their teams to achieve performance excellence. Foster a supportive, inclusive, and motivated workplace culture. Support recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning. Financial & Commercial Performance Work with the General Manager to plan, monitor, and manage budgets and forecasts. Support revenue-enhancing initiatives and cost control across departments. Review financial performance regularly, reporting on results and corrective actions. Strategy & Growth Support the development and implementation of business strategies and operational initiatives to drive occupancy, revenue, and guest loyalty. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue teams to support promotional initiatives and brand awareness. Communication & Representation Maintain strong communication channels with departmental leaders and stakeholders. Represent the hotel and support networking or external events in the absence of the General Manager. Qualifications & Experience Fluent in English and German (spoken and written). Italian is a plus. Proven experience in operational management in hospitality. Strong organisational and communication skills. Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness. Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain attention to detail. Proven track record in guest service delivery, people leadership, and commercial performance. A proactive, hands-on leader with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
