Job Summary:
We are looking to recruit a motivated Junior Systems Specialist (developer/ sys admin) who has some Data Analytics / Reporting experience, to support with the maintenance and development of systems, to help provide user support, and to support the organisation's reporting and analytics function.
You will collaboratively work with teams across the company, learning how the business uses the technology solutions, assisting in system enhancements and delivering high-quality tools which drive business growth. This role will also be directly involved with the continued drive for service improvements and service efficiency.
The role is office-based at our Dundee Head Office, with hybrid working options based on a minimum of 3 days in the office once training is complete and competency in the role is confirmed.
Principal Objectives:
* To provide the business and product experts support in delivery of systems products and services.
* To support the maintenance, configuration, and development of systems.
* To deputise for the Internal Product Expert as skills develop.
* To maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and a knowledge base regarding system functionality.
* To serve as an escalation point (level 2 & 3) for supported systems outside the L1 support team.
* To escalate stakeholder requests to the product expert when necessary.
* To provide updates on projects and issues to manage expectations and keep stakeholders informed.
* To contribute opinions to strategic discussions on future technologies.
* To work with business departments to understand and fulfill their reporting and analytics needs.
* To support the development and maintenance of reporting systems and dashboards.
* To deliver insightful data analytics that support organizational efficiency and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with system maintenance and development, supporting updates and configuration changes under guidance.
* Provide user support, escalating complex issues as needed.
* Help create reports, dashboards, and analytics tools for the business.
* Collaborate with finance and operational teams to improve systems and understanding.
* Participate in training and stay current with new technologies.
* Work with the product expert on trend analysis and reporting to enhance service delivery.
* Understand operational processes that underpin business management.
* Participate in specific projects as assigned.
Skills & Abilities (Essential):
* Degree in IT or Analytics or equivalent experience.
* Experience in a systems/application service desk environment.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines with a flexible, customer-focused approach.
* Logical thinker with attention to detail.
* Experience with Oracle SQL and understanding of relational databases.
* Knowledge of PHP, Javascript, or Python.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
