Job Title: Principal Engineer (Design) Location: North West England (office-based with site visits as required) Sector: Infrastructure / Energy / Utilities Overview: An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering design solutions across major infrastructure projects. The role focuses on providing safe, practical, and cost-effective designs while leading a team and supporting project delivery across all design phases. Key Responsibilities: Manage and develop a team of engineers Deliver technical drawings and reports for detailed design of linear infrastructure projects (e.g. pipelines, HV cable routes) Lead Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed design stages Produce constructability reports and lead design risk assessments Review and approve technical documentation Coordinate design activities and support project reporting Provide technical input into tenders and support bid submissions Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and attend project meetings Undertake site visits where requiredRequirements: Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) Experience in design and construction of linear infrastructure projects Knowledge of relevant UK and international standards for pipelines and utilities Strong technical reporting and communication skills Experience leading teams and managing workloadsDesirable: Experience with...
