The Role As a Debt Management Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Advisors who manage the ongoing administration and customer journey of Debt Management Plans (DMPs). You’ll ensure the team delivers accurate, compliant, and customer‑focused outcomes while meeting performance targets and regulatory expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Debt Management Advisors to achieve performance, quality, and compliance targets. Oversee the day‑to‑day workflow of DMP case management, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Monitor team performance through KPIs, QA checks, and regular 1‑to‑1s. Ensure all activity aligns with regulatory requirements set by the FCA, ICO, FOS, and internal compliance frameworks. Support team members with complex cases, escalations, and customer queries. Drive continuous improvement across processes, customer experience, and operational efficiency. Deliver training, coaching, and development plans to support team growth and capability. Collaborate with senior leadership to support wider business objectives and operational strategy. Maintain accurate reporting and provide performance insights to management. Foster a positive, supportive, and high‑performance team culture. About You We’re looking for a confident, people‑focused leader with strong debt management experience. Essential Skills & Experience Previous experience in Debt Management, DMP operations, or a similar regulated environment. Proven leadership experience, either as a Team Leader or Senior Advisor with mentoring responsibilities. Strong understanding of FCA regulations, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), and Consumer Duty. Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach, influence, and motivate others. High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering compliant, customer‑centric outcomes. Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and maintain performance under pressure. Confident handling escalations, complex cases, and sensitive customer situations.
