Teach Now is excited to be recruiting a committed and energetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant three-form entry primary school in Barnet, supporting a Reception class from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who thrives in an active, child-centred environment. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who can confidently engage young children, model excellent language, and think on their feet—adapting activities within the learning environment to maximise impact. The Role You will work closely with the Reception team, spending significant time in the SEND room, supporting small groups and leading targeted interventions. These may include: • Phonics groups • Sensory circuits and movement-based activities • Yoga and regulation strategies • Attention Autism approaches You’ll support children with SEND who may become dysregulated or attempt to run, making this a physically active role that requires vigilance, resilience, and warmth. Building strong, trusting relationships and keeping children engaged is at the heart of this position. The Ideal Candidate • Has good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum • Is confident leading small groups and interventions • Has experience supporting children with SEND (highly desirable) • Is calm, proactive, and adaptable in dynamic situations • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative TA team Training and guidance are provided, but consistency is key—this is a full-time role for someone keen to become a valued part of the team.
