As Water Sector Business & Market Intelligence Analyst (Sales), you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our sales effectiveness and enabling data‑led decision‑making. The role involves close collaboration with Key Account Managers, Product & Applications Engineers, and Marketing colleagues.
The purpose of the role is to generate data‑driven insights, tools, and market intelligence that enable the Sales team to prioritise opportunities, strengthen customer engagement, and accelerate growth across ELIQUO HYDROK’s product portfolio – currently focused on Filtration, Storm Water Management, and Bioresources.
The role provides the analytical backbone for our business development activities by transforming industry data (e.g. WINEP, AMP8 business plans, permits, EDM data) into actionable targeting, opportunity maps, and quantified customer value cases.
What you'll be doing:
* Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Ensure all company and customer HSE policies and procedures are followed and embraced in all working practices.
* Market & data analysis: Identify, cleanse and analyze large sector datasets. Identify and quantify site‑level opportunities for each product line, including indicative financial drivers (e.g. chemical savings, energy reduction, haulage avoidance, consent compliance).
* Targeting & intelligence: Maintain a dynamic “Where to Play” dashboard of priority sites, buying windows, and decision‑makers. Produce quarterly WaSC scorecards.
* Business case development: Build and maintain RoIe models and site‑specific calculators for Filtration, Storm Water Management, and Bioresources Products. Generate evidence packs that KAMs can deploy in early customer meetings.
* Sales enablement & forecasting: Partner with KAMs to support targeting, hit‑lists, and opportunity qualification. Maintain pipeline and forecast analytics, providing insight on conversion rates, cycle times, and external driver alignment.
* Bid & proposal support: Contribute assumptions, data, and references to accelerate tenders and proposals.
* Market scanning: Track competitor activities, new regulatory initiatives, and adjacent sector trends. Provide regular intelligence briefings to the Sales team and Senior Management.
* Collaboration – Work within product “pods” (KAM, Analyst, Technical Manager) to ensure alignment of intelligence with customer engagement.
Who we are looking for:
* Strong analytical background with proven experience handling large datasets and building decision‑support tools.
* Knowledge of the UK water sector is essential, ideally with experience in bioresources, stormwater, or wastewater treatment.
* Understanding of PR24/AMP8 frameworks, WINEP drivers, and regulatory context highly desirable.
* Degree qualified or with appropriate equivalent qualification supported by experience.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power BI (or equivalent BI tools). MS Dynamics and/or GIS (ESRI/QGIS) experience desirable.
* Experience working with Sales/Business Development functions in a technical or engineering context preferred.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate data into business cases and sales‑relevant insights.
