Job Title: Painter / Prepper Location: Peterborough ________________________________________ Role Overview Revelare is seeking a Painter / Prepper with an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for high-quality finishes. This role sits at the heart of our finishing process, supporting the delivery of premium, design-led surfaces for architectural, interior, and bespoke projects. You will be responsible for preparing substrates and applying paint and specialist coatings to an extremely high visual standard. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation - Prepare walls, panels, furniture, and components through sanding, filling, levelling, masking, and priming - Assess substrates and select appropriate preparation methods and materials - Repair surface imperfections to achieve smooth, flawless finishes - Maintain strict cleanliness and dust control during preparation Paint & Coating Application - Apply paints and specialist finishes using spray, roller, and hand application techniques - Mix and prepare coatings accurately to specification - Apply multi-layer systems including primers, base coats, and top coats - Maintain consistency of colour, texture, and finish across samples and final works Finishing & Quality Control - Inspect completed work and carry out snagging or refinishing where required - Flatting, polishing, and refining finishes to achieve the desired aesthetic - Work to visual mock-ups, samples, and client-approved standards - Take ownership of finish quality before work leaves the workshop or site Workshop & Site Support - Support installation and finishing work on-site when required - Handle, protect, and pack finished items correctly - Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working order - Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times - Keep workspaces clean, organised, and presentation-ready ________________________________________ Skills & Experience Essential - Experience as a painter, prepper, finisher, or decorative applicator - Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques - High attention to detail and pride in workmanship - Ability to follow specifications, samples, and visual references - Good manual skills and practical problem-solving ability Desirable - Experience with decorative, specialist, or architectural finishes - Confidence working on high-end residential or commercial projects - Experience across varied substrates (plaster, MDF, metal, concrete, etc.) - Previous workshop and/or site-based experience - CSCS card ________________________________________ Personal Attributes - Quality-driven with a strong visual eye - Patient, methodical, and well-organised - Reliable and professional when representing the company on-site - Comfortable working independently and within a small specialist team - Open to learning new materials, techniques, and finishing systems ________________________________________ What We Offer - Work on distinctive, design-led, high-end projects - Training and development in specialist finishing techniques - A supportive environment that values craftsmanship and care - Competitive pay based on experience - Long-term opportunity within a growing finishes business ________________________________________ Working Hours - Full-time, Monday to Friday - 7.30 - 4.30 - Occasional site work and overtime depending on project requirements ________________________________________ If you are a painter or prepper who takes pride in creating exceptional finishes and wants to work on premium, non-standard projects, we would like to hear from you.
