The Resident in Counselor position offers a great opportunity for individuals interested in or currently pursuing a degree in mental health or social services fields. In this role, you will gain exposure and experience working with clients facing significant mental health issues.
Our ideal candidate is dedicated, responsible, reliable, and enthusiastic about working with clients with co-occurring disorders. Flexibility and adaptability to the changing nature of treatment are essential qualities we seek.
The ideal candidate has completed a Master's program in counseling, social work, or marriage & family counseling and has or has applied for at least a preliminary license in Virginia (LCP, LCPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support for clients, addressing areas where they need assistance with individual problems.
* Conduct and facilitate psychoeducation groups.
* Manage crises and intervene when necessary.
* Maintain client notes and group note documentation.
