Director of Learning - Mathematics.
Required for April 2026.
The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Director of Learning - Mathematics to lead our outstanding Mathematics department. This is an opportunity for an excellent teacher to take the next steps into middle leadership in a high performing department. You will be supported on your leadership journey with high quality CPD and supportive line management.
The department is fully staffed with mathematics specialists. The department is based together in out suite of maths rooms. Standards are high and the department regularly tops the local authority in terms of GCSE results. Over the last four years it has achieved between 42-45 points for the average numeracy score, between 76-85% A*-C at GCSE and 30-40% A*-A.
Cardinal Newman Catholic School is an 11-16 mixed Voluntary Aided school, with 989 pupils currently on roll. The school is over-subscribed. The school has an excellent reputation for both our academic results and our pastoral care. The school regularly outperforms other schools in the local authorities that we serve. We annually achieve 400+ Average Capped Nine points and at least 75%of our pupils achieve five GCSEs including Maths and English. In 2025 our results for the Capped Nine Points Score was 413and 76% achieved five GCSEs including Maths and English.
