Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with a Good Ofsted-rated Secondary School in Christchurch who are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from October 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a welcoming and inclusive school community, supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role will involve working closely with class teachers to provide targeted academic and pastoral support, as well as delivering focused interventions to pupils with identified additional needs.
The Role:
1. Provide in-class support to ensure all pupils are able to access learning effectively
2. Work 1:1 or with small groups to deliver focused interventions tailored to individual needs
3. Support pupils with a range of barriers to learning, including SEN and SEMH needs
4. Promote positive behaviour and encourage resilience and independence
5. Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to support progress and well-being

6. Location: Christchurch
7. Position: Teaching Assistant
8. Type of work: Classroom Support / Special Educational Needs Support
9. Contract: Temp to Perm
10. Full-time hours: 8:30am 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
11. Start Date: October 2025
12. Rate of Pay: From £ per hour
Candidate Requirements:
13. GCSEs (or equivalent) minimum Grade C/4 in English and Maths
14. Minimum 1 years experience supporting children or young people in an educational setting
15. Experience working with pupils with additional needs (desirable)
16. A good understanding of safeguarding and the role of a Teaching Assistant
17. Flexibility, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a committed team
Safeguarding and Compliance:
18. Must hold Right to Work in the UK
19. Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS certificate (child barred list) on the update service
20. Able to provide two professional references covering recent child-related experience
