An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Finance department, for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our friendly team, to assist in the daily running of the department and facilitate the achievement of department objectives.
The Accounts Payable Assistant will pick up financial processes quickly, understand each task, and use their own initiative to work confidently and accurately. Working with the Finance team, sharing the workload as the business grows, facilitating accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including maintenance of accounts payable records and general office administration. Your ability to work with numbers and analytical thinking will be an asset in this role, as well as your attention to detail and organisational skills
Duties Include
* Invoice Processing: Receiving, reviewing, and verifying invoices for accuracy and appropriate authorisation, ensuring adherence to internal policies.
* Discrepancy Resolution: Investigating and resolving discrepancies or issues with invoices, working with internal departments and suppliers.
* Vendor Management: Building and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and responding to their payment inquiries.
* Expense Coding and Monitoring: Tracking and monitoring company expenses to ensure they are coded to the correct Nominal Codes, in line with budget
* Documentation and Compliance: Maintaining financial records, ensuring adherence to internal policies, and complying with external regulations.
* Support the finance department with month end preparations and audit information requirements.
* Other adhoc duties relevant to the role, as assigned.
Qualifications
* A minimum of 2 years' experience working within an Accounts Payable role, including demonstrable Purchase Ledger processing and administration experience.
* Dual Ledger Environment: Experience dealing with a group of companies (dual ledgers)
* Software: Proficient skills and competence in using accounting packages and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & outlook)
* Strong organisational & analytical skills, attention to detail, along with strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction
