Behaviour Mentor - Secondary SEMH School, Enfield
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist Secondary SEMH School in Enfield that supports pupils aged 11 to 16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, Autism, and associated behavioural challenges. The school provides a therapeutic and structured learning environment where staff work collaboratively to help students re-engage with education and build positive relationships.
We are seeking a resilient, confident and Team Teach-trained Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated staff team from January 2026.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
Use Team Teach de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour safely
Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and emotional regulation
Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and therapists to deliver individualised support
Foster a calm, respectful and inclusive classroom environment
What We're Looking For
Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (ideally in a PRU or SEMH setting)
Team Teach certification - essential (or willingness to refresh training)
Calm, empathetic and professional approach under pressure
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
