Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited, working on exciting global projects across Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial Heavy Machinery sectors.
ROLE SUMMARY
We have an opportunity for an ambitious Manufacturing Engineer to join the PTME Battery Assembly team, supporting pioneering electrification developments for electric vehicles. You will be at the forefront of developing new, technologically advanced electric propulsion systems.
The PTME battery assembly team is responsible for developing and implementing industry-leading processes and facilities with state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Product Development Engineers and suppliers to ensure battery system designs meet high standards of quality and efficiency.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Develop and implement assembly and in-process test processes and facilities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
2. Plan, develop, and execute installation timelines with key suppliers.
3. Ensure robust process planning, including build simulations and PFMEA analyses.
4. Support manufacturing process strategies.
5. Assess design feasibility for modern assembly and testing requirements.
6. Verify assembly processes and equipment at suppliers and manufacturing facilities.
7. Support project management activities through development and monitoring of timelines.
8. Develop processes for new model planning based on study requests.
9. Manage technical issues and escalate when necessary.
10. Support resolution of technical and manufacturing issues.
11. Plan, develop, and document manufacturing processes.
12. Perform other relevant duties as assigned by line management.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience with manufacturing and engineering processes, tools, and techniques.
* Self-motivated with strong engineering and communication skills, ideally with volume manufacturing experience.
* Ability to work cross-functionally and support projects from concept to launch.
* Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project).
* Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA V6, Teamcenter).
* Degree or equivalent in Manufacturing Systems or a related engineering discipline; relevant experience may be considered.
* Understanding of automated and manual manufacturing systems.
* Project management experience is advantageous.
* Knowledge of GSPAS or similar process creation systems is advantageous.
* Strong problem-solving skills for technical and manufacturing issues.
* Highly motivated and proactive.
