Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Professor under China's National Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas), based in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
The Professor will establish and lead an independent research program in Natural Sciences or Engineering, supervise a research team, and mentor PhD students and early-career researchers.
Responsibilities include conducting high-impact research, publishing in leading international journals, securing competitive research funding, and fostering interdisciplinary and international collaborations. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the University's global research profile and contributing to cutting-edge scientific advancements.
Qualifications
PhD in a relevant discipline (Natural Sciences or Engineering)
Born on or after 1 January 1986
Minimum 36 consecutive months of academic or research experience at an overseas university, research institute, or corporate R&D organisation after PhD (exceptions may apply for outstanding overseas PhD graduates)
Currently hold a formal academic or research position overseas
Demonstrated record of significant research achievements, including publications and peer recognition
Strong potential to develop into an internationally recognised academic leader
Ability to establish and manage an independent research team and mentor PhD students and early-career researchers
Commitment to relocate full-time to China for a minimum of three years upon award
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in leading research projects or research groups
Track record of successful competitive research funding applications
Experience with interdisciplinary and international collaborations
Strong communication and networking skills in a global academic environment
