As an Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will play an integral role in shaping the success of the Finance Operations Cemtre. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve guiding your team through busy periods with empathy and clarity while ensuring all transactional processes run smoothly. You will coordinate resources effectively to meet deadlines and maintain clean ledgers. By acting as a dependable point of contact for escalations and collaborating across multiple departments, you will help drive continuous improvement in service delivery. Your ability to nurture relationships within your team and with stakeholders will be essential in creating a positive working atmosphere where everyone feels valued.
Key duties include:
Oversee the daily operations of a team of 8 to 10 Finance Assistants, ensuring timely processing of supplier invoices and maintaining accurate accounts payable ledgers in a high-volume setting.
Coordinate staff activities and address work-related matters by planning and organising effective work schedules that meet business needs.
Report directly to the Purchase to Pay Manager, taking responsibility for daily work allocation, productivity tracking, performance measurement, and overall team management.
Ensure all vendor and internal customer queries are resolved efficiently within agreed Service Level Agreements, upholding exceptional standards of service.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across Group Procurement, IT, wider finance teams, Commercial departments, and operational sites to deliver seamless service.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex issues arising within the team from either business partners or vendors, ensuring swift resolution.
Support change initiatives by managing or leading projects aimed at improving processes within the Purchase to Pay function or similar financial teams.
Ideally you will have experience in the following areas:
Demonstrated experience managing medium-sized teams within a shared service centre or core transactional/financial process environment in a complex business context.
Proven ability to organise workloads effectively and reprioritise tasks at short notice to consistently meet deadlines without compromising quality.
Comprehensive understanding of accounts payable principles, practices, regulations, and procedures relevant to purchase-to-pay functions.
Experience implementing or supporting change projects within purchase-to-pay or similar financial teams is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Oracle or Causeway systems is preferred; however, experience with other financial systems will also be considered valuable.
Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build trust-based relationships with colleagues across departments as well as external partners.
A collaborative approach that fosters teamwork while also supporting individual growth within your direct reports.
Strong problem-solving abilities combined with sensitivity towards customer needs when resolving queries or escalations promptly.
