Utility Surveyor

Bridgestone Group are pleased to be working with a leading UK provider of water network services who are seeking a Utility Surveyor to join their growing Geospatial team. In this hands-on, outdoor-focused role, you’ll work on a wide variety of projects, from routine surveys to technically complex assignments, using the latest equipment to deliver high‑quality data for Underground Utility Mapping, Drainage Surveys, and advanced surveying solutions.
About the Role
As a Utility Surveyor, you’ll be a core part of a high‑performing team delivering essential services that support water networks, drainage systems, and infrastructure projects across the UK. Your work will help drive improvements in leakage reduction, flood prevention, and environmental protection in local communities.
You will operate a range of state‑of‑the‑art surveying technologies and play a key role in ensuring surveys are completed safely, accurately, and to industry-leading quality standards.

Key Duties
* Lead and support utility survey projects, ensuring work is completed on time and within scope
* Work collaboratively with Senior Surveyors and Survey Managers
* Follow technical specifications and produce high‑quality survey deliverables
* Adhere to strict health & safety practices across varied environments
* Carry out supervised and unsupervised fieldwork, following risk assessments and safe systems of work
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and the public
* Identify and escalate operational, commercial, or safety risks
* Maintain compliance with company procedures, including safe driving standards
* Ensure all work meets internal quality requirements
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
* Strong understanding of PAS128 survey standards
* Proficiency with Electromagnetic Locators, Ground Penetrating Radar, and related survey equipment
* Competency using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* A proactive, problem‑solving mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
* Flexibility around working hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime when required
* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
* QCF Level 3 in Utility Mapping/Surveying, relevant HNC/HND, or equivalent industry experience
* Full UK Driving Licence
