A Mechanical Design CAD Engineer is required to join a market leading Innovative Defence Systems Company. The Mechanical Design CAD Engineer will Provide Mechanical CAD Engineering expertise to Systems for the Design, Development and Qualification of the Aeronautical Systems, Shelters, vehicles and other equipment that is supplied as part of the Product Subsystem as required. The Mechanical Design CAD Engineer will report to the Principle Mechanical Engineer and this role will be for an initial 6 months contract with the potential of being extended. Mechanical Design CAD Engineer - Key Responsibilities - Mechanical and CAD design and development of shelter and vehicle installations - Prepare and develop concept layouts of system installations - Taking the concept design and carryout detail design including cabling - Work closely with sub - contractors and other stakeholders - Support internal and external designs reviews and Provide support to manufacturing - Design and develop equipment for manufacturability, maintainability and serviceability - Generate 2D and 3D models for components in Ground Units and other Vehicles - Generate Control and CAD Drawings for above components - Develop detailed layout of equipment within Ground Units - Develop vehicles including cable design and Interface panels - Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and Bill of Materials BOM\'s - Maintain and update drawings, BOMs and CAD models as required Technical Skills and Experience for Mechanical Design CAD Engineer - Relevant experience working in mechanical and CAD design - Experience in designing electronic equipment for installations, vehicles an or shelters - Experience in designing equipment to survive in harsh environments - Familiar with defence engineering specifications adhering to Def stands and guidelines - Familiar with the use of 3D CAD for design, specifically Creo would be a distinct advantage - Willingness and able to travel in the UK Security Clearance will be required for this role and therefore only applications from candidates able to obtain this will be considered
