Health & Beauty Packaging Technologist
This role will be based at the client’s vibrant Head Office. It involves working across FMCG Health & Beauty to manage packaging CSR, structure and print.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the delivery of the CSR Packaging Roadmap and input into its continuing development.
* Act as key point of contact and lead on innovation and knowledge for packaging and recycling, attending shows and conferences.
* Review new pack formats for recyclability per OPRL standards and work to reduce over‑packing.
* Review and approve pack formats for structural integrity, brand alignment and shelf presence; coordinate with suppliers.
* Collaborate with designers, design agencies and printers to achieve proposed designs on all pack formats.
* Lead pre‑artwork meetings with suppliers and printers to onboard new designs; address queries.
* Manage colour and print standards, select lead printers, review options and attend key print runs.
* Create wetproofs, digital proofs and colour standards with external printers; approve samples for compliance.
* Check artwork layout, certification and recycling information in line with OPRL guidance.
* Investigate ways to reduce cost of goods through packaging and print solutions.
* Contribute to process improvements and ad‑hoc projects as requested by the Design Manager.
What you’ll need to succeed
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a packaging technologist in retail/FMCG, preferably Health & Beauty.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Clear communicator able to liaise with multiple stakeholders to achieve results.
* Proven track record of successful CSR, structural and print packaging projects from brief to store.
* Understanding of commercials and how design/specification can reduce product costs.
* Team player who is proactive and results‑driven.
