Job Description
Treats patients with disabilities, considering responses related to the patient's functional adaptation to the environment.
Qualifications
Required:
* Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
* NJ State Occupational Therapy License
* Maintained registration by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board
* Satisfactory completion of NBCOT Certification Examination and maintenance of registration
* AHA BLS Provider Certification
* Twelve-week pediatric affiliation or pediatric experience
* Knowledge of developmental theory, physical and percepto-cognitive disabilities, and psycho-social aspects of functional adaptation
* Ability to evaluate performance disruptions and plan treatments
* Tact and judgment in duties
* Commitment to skill improvement
* Effective teamwork skills
* Good verbal and written English communication skills
Preferred:
* Master's degree
Certifications and Licenses Required
* NJ State Occupational Therapy License
* AHA BLS Provider Certification
* American Occupational Therapy Certification Board registration
* NBCOT registration
Scheduling Requirements
* Per Diem Evenings
Essential Functions
* Administers and interprets assessment tools including history, screening, observations, and evaluations
* Sets functional goals for remediation, compensation, or adaptation
* Selects and evaluates treatment methods
* Applies activity analysis principles to meet environmental demands
* Communicates effectively with patients, families, team, physicians, and community contacts
* Assists in training staff, COTAs, aides, and students
* Seeks supervision when needed and contributes to improvement plans
* Explains symptoms, prognosis, and limitations for diagnostic groups
* Makes discharge recommendations considering prognosis and community resources
