Senior crisis practitioner- north east crisis team b6

Glasgow (Glasgow City)
NHS National Services Scotland
Posted: 18 August
Offer description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join the North East Crisis Team as a Senior Crisis Practitioner. This is a full-time position, 37 hours per week, within a 7-day service operating in shifts of 9-5, 9-4:30, or 12-8.

Applicants must be NMC registered Mental Health Nurses.

The North East Crisis Team provides high-quality care and ensures fair access for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. The team conducts rapid, specialist assessments and develops robust treatment plans. A key function of the Crisis Service is to offer community-based treatment as an alternative to hospital admission, aiming to minimize inpatient stays by supporting home passes or discharges where clinical risks are manageable within the community.

The team collaborates with inpatient staff to identify individuals whose care needs can be met outside hospital. We seek a motivated and enthusiastic candidate capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as the role involves liaising with stakeholders including carers, inpatient services, community mental health teams, social services, and third-sector agencies. The post-holder will also provide clinical leadership to junior team members, prioritize workloads, and utilize resources efficiently to meet service user needs. The role requires practicing within legal, ethical, and professional standards, including mental health legislation and contractual obligations.
