About the Role

Riseley Green School is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our team, supporting pupils with autism (ASC) and complex needs. You’ll help create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive and achieve their potential.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

1. Support pupils’ learning through tailored classroom activities and one-to-one engagement.
2. Prepare learning materials and assist in lesson delivery.
3. Promote wellbeing, independence, and confidence.
4. Assist with outdoor learning experiences and off-site activities.
5. Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality support.

Your ability to build trust, provide stability, and encourage curiosity will make a real difference to the pupils in your care.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

6. Adaptable – able to support pupils in a range of classroom and outdoor settings.
7. Empathetic and patient – responsive to individual needs with care and understanding.
8. A team player – enthusiastic about working collaboratively and sharing knowledge.
9. Committed to safeguarding – prioritising the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.

Experience working with children or young people with autism or complex needs is desirable but not essential. Above all, we value a positive, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to help pupils thrive.

About Us

Riseley Green School is an independent specialist school near Reading, Berkshire, for autistic young people aged 4–16, with a capacity of 60 pupils.

We provide a nurturing, structured environment tailored to each child’s needs, fostering academic, social, and emotional growth. Small classes, high staff-to-pupil ratios, and personalised programmes ensure every pupil can thrive and reach their full potential. Our dedicated team works closely with families to support wellbeing, independence, and the development of essential life skills.

For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are pioneering innovative, evidence-based approaches that deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes for everyone in our care.
