Here at NCH, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated accountant to join our busy finance team. The role will be hybrid, with office days based at our European head office in Bilston on an initial 12 month fixed term contract.
The ideal candidate will be a reliable, customer-focused business partner who excels at collaborating with both the wider finance team and key departments across the organisation. Key Responsibilities
KPIs:
1. Continuous accounting, accurate and on-time reporting
2. Reduction of manual journals
3. Timely completion of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
4. Timely resolution of sub-ledger and “sets of books” issues
Accounting
5. Review and posting of P&L transactions, accruals and prepayments
6. AR includes discounts, rebates, bad debt provision, deferred revenue
7. AP includes accruals, GRNI, Open POs
8. Preparation of timely Balance Sheet reconciliations for all relevant account codes in US and Local GAAP
9. Assist Compliance team in providing accurate and timely information to support external audits and statutory filings
10. Apply NCH Group accounting policy and ensure compliance with US GAAP
11. Create and maintain reference manual of differences between US and Local GAAP accounting treatment
12. Support ad-hoc requests
Month-end
13. Continuous accounting to avoid bottlenecks during month-end close
14. Issue month-end reports for FP&A review
15. Support month-end pushing of countries to ECL/CC and Group Consolidation
16. Perform accurate and efficient sub-ledger revaluations
Team-working and stakeholder satisfaction
17. Collaborate internally and cross-functionally to resolve issues and establish efficient, standardised processes
18. Work effectively and cost-efficiently with network of external advisors
19. Work with external audit and tax teams as directed by the NCH Compliance team
20. Actively seek stakeholder feedback and act upon issues
21. Deliver KPI’s on a timely basis
22. o Ensure adherence to NCH Europe’s health and safety standards
23. o Adhere to and support NCH Corporate Philosophy
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
24. Good accounting technician capable of developing deep subject matter expertise
25. Operates effectively in a deadline-oriented environment and manage multiple activities
26. Discreet and trust-worthy, working with confidential data
27. 1-3 years of Financial Accounting experience
28. Strong systems skills in Excel and Oracle / SAP
29. Worked in multinational operations
30. Experience in using / accounting sub-ledgers
31. Fluency in written and spoken English, critical
32. Other European language skills (written and spoken), desirable but not essential
