We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our Payroll Bureau at Flux Power, a leading not‑for‑profit organisation providing independent living services to people with disabilities and health care needs nationwide.
Location: Coventry, CV3 3GU (Hybrid working)
Salary: £25,469 per annum / £20,672 pro rata (pro rata)
Hours: 30 hours per week
Working days & times: To be confirmed with the successful candidate. Core business hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Role Overview
As a Payroll Officer, you will provide an efficient computerised payroll service using specialist software, ensuring accurate and timely processing of all PAYE, SMP, SPP and SSP related obligations.
Responsibilities
* Provide an efficient computerised payroll service using specialist software
* Monitor and update all records relating to PAYE, including submissions using Real Time Information (RTI)
* Maintain regular liaison with HMRC, Inland Revenue and other governing bodies
* Provide information and advice to service users regarding PAYE, SMP, SPP and SSP when needed
* Set up new employees on the payroll service
* Collate and convey customer information relating to tax and National Insurance liability in line with statutory requirements
* Ensure data is stored securely in line with data protection regulations
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Previous experience of working in a payroll and/or finance department
* Ability to input and maintain accurate data records
* Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Excellent telephone manner
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* Ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines
* Minimum GCSE Grade ‘4’ or equivalent in English and Maths
* Qualification in bookkeeping, credit control or entry‑level CIPP desirable
