Dron & Dickson group are specialists in integrated supply, installation and maintenance of harsh & hazardous electrical equipment and cable supply. Based at six UK locations, we provide Wholesale, distribution, specialist E&I inspection, maintenance and project services to all parts of the Offshore & Onshore Energy sector, Pharmaceutical, Marine and many other industries. Managed from our UK locations, our services operate within the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia. Position: Purpose: ‘Everyone Home Safe’ – An encapsulation of the right for everyone to return from work safely and promote their wellbeing; this applies to Dron & Dickson staff and all who come in to contact with our work activities. Our systems, processes and culture coupled with our supply and services ensures people, plant and the environment are kept safe. The primary purpose of this role is to engage with key and target clients and, manufacturer partners and liaise with internal stakeholders. Working with clients problem-solving through the specification of innovative and safe solutions, in line with our company purpose and strategy. The Senior People & Development Advisor plays a key role in delivering proactive, professional HR support across the business. Acting as a trusted partner to line managers, you will provide advice and guidance on a wide range of HR matters, ensuring alignment with employment legislation, best practice, and business objectives. This position supports the full employee lifecycle, contributes to a positive workplace culture, and helps drive strategic HR initiatives. Reporting to: People & Development Manager, UK. Direct Reports: No direct reports Role Responsibilities: Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and processes in line with legislation and organisational strategy. Provide first-line HR advice and guidance on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability issues. Manage recruitment processes in collaboration with hiring managers, including job design, advertising, shortlisting, interviews, and onboarding. Advise on pay and benefits benchmarking and support annual pay review and promotion cycles. Support employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing programmes and collaborate with Managers to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Assist in the coordination and delivery of learning and development programmes, performance appraisals, and succession planning. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and ensure compliance with data protection and audit requirements. Provide guidance and support to P&D Co-ordinators, encouraging continual professional development and fostering a positive team culture. Liaise with external providers (e.g. occupational health, training partners, legal advisors) to ensure high-quality support services. Support HR-related projects such as restructures, TUPE transfers, change initiatives, and diversity and inclusion plans. Ensure compliance with employment law and regulations, including iR35, GDPR and offshore requirements. Monitor HR metrics and produce reports to inform decision-making. To take a proactive approach to continuous improvement and development of the company’s systems and processes. Ad hoc duties as requested by management. Travel for business or attendance at social events may be necessary. Recruitment: Review current recruitment system and process, ensuring fitness for purpose and providing recommendations for improvements. Oversee the recruitment process from start to finish, implementing cost-effective strategies to attract top talent in each of our locations whilst understanding local market conditions. Implement and improve the time-to-hire metrics for key postions. Support the People & Development Co-ordinator with the onboarding process. Training & Development: Support the development of a company wide training and development strategy to ensure competency needs are met. Support the design and implementation of career development plans and leadership training initiatives, including P&D toolkit for Managers. Support the development of robust talent development and succession planning frameworks. HSEQ Responsibilities: Comply with all Dron & Dickson’s integrated managements system including all policies and Procedures Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting. Act ethically and with integrity. Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health. Requirements: Core Skills: Proven ability to influence and build relationships with senior leaders and employees. Strong coaching and advisory skills, with experience handling complex employee relations cases. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Data-driven mindset, with the ability to provide HR insights for decision-making. Expertise in managing change and delivering innovative solutions. Articulate, dynamic, energetic and delivery focused. Flexible, adaptable and able to work under pressure. Take responsibility for managing excellent personal performance and results. Ability to represent Dron & Dickson in a positive and effective manner. Be proactive and use own personal initiative. Core Training & Competencies: CIPD Level 5 in Human Resources Training in IR35 compliance Knowledge of AI applications in HR (desirable) Proficient in MS Office including outlook, word & excel.
