Job Description
Bromley Schools' Collegiate are actively recruiting for trainee teachers to join our Secondary phase Initial Teacher Training programme starting in September 2024.
Our training programme was established in 1993 and since then, we have trained almost 2500 teachers that have been well-prepared and supported to start an fulfilling career as a teacher.
All of our placement schools are in Bromley and Greenwich and you will be supported by expert mentors every step of your training.
What we can offer:
With expert mentoring and professional training from teachers and trainers who understand the realities of the classroom, you will be prepared to start a career in teaching. Each trainee teacher develops a professional portfolio demonstrating their excellence in their professional practice drawn from their two placements which take place in supportive schools.
Over 70% of our trainees find their first role within one of our partnership schools and we have excellent employment rates for past trainees. 100% of our trainees agree that the course prepares them well for the realities of teaching.
Through our training programme we develop teachers that are:
* Highly reflective– they have the skills and qualities needed to reflect on their own practice and proactively seek ways to improve their practice.
* Child-centred– they put the welfare and development of the whole child at the centre of their teaching and practice
* Self-starters– they are intellectually curious about the development of children and how they can support this through their teaching
* Research informed– they are curious about emerging thinking in the field of education and how they can use this to inform their practice
* Critical consumers and utilisers of educational research– they realise that not all research is directly applicable to their professional setting or the needs of the young people that they are working with.Through evaluating and synthesising research findings theyare able todevelop further their own understanding of effective practice.
* See teaching as a career full of opportunities– theyare able tosee the bigger picture in education and how their practice influences the outcomes for young people and the practice of others.
* Leaders of learning– they see themselves as leaders of their own learning, that of the young people that they teach and other professionals that they work with.
* Collegiate– they see themselves as part of a professional community of practice where they support the learning and welfare of others.
