We are seeking a motivated pharmacy technician to support safe, effective and efficient use of medicines across our hospital. You will work closely with pharmacists, nursing staff, prescribers and wider clinical teams to deliver high‑quality patient care through medicines reconciliation, safety improvement and patient counselling.

Responsibilities
* Carry out timely and accurate medicines reconciliation for patients on admission.
* Support safe and effective discharge through processing discharges at ward level and counselling patients about their medicines.
* Participate in ward‑based medicines optimisation initiatives to reduce medication errors and improve outcomes.
* Help implement best practice, formularies, and medicines policies across the Trust.
* Support medicines supply, stock management and minimise waste.
* Use digital systems to improve the flow of medicines information and support clinical decision making.
* Act as a role model for high‑quality, patient‑centred medicines management.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Experience in hospital or primary care pharmacy (or motivation to broaden experience).
* Confident communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
* Organised, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Passion for improving patient safety and medicines optimisation.
* Working with a team, managing own workload, using pharmacy computer systems, training others.
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures (NVQ3, BTEC, or equivalent).
* Additional training for checking dispensed prescriptions or supervising a technical area to degree or equivalent level.
* Knowledge of medicines management, legislation and policies (NVQ3/BTEC or higher plus specialist training).
* Desirable: experience in a busy dispensary and post‑qualification hospital pharmacy experience.
