We are supporting a family in the Aspatria area to recruit a Personal Assistant to support their 8-year-old daughter who is non-verbal living with Autism, Severe Learning Disability, Epilepsy, Global Development Delay & other conditions, to support her with aspects of everyday life.
The ideal candidate will be required to build a trusting relationship with the girl and encourage them with independence, keen interests/hobbies and everyday tasks.
Up to 6hrs per week support is required for the annual 13 weeks school holidays therefore flexibility during these weeks is required. Support may be required during term time to meet the needs of the child/family, however support primarily for school holiday support only.
The role will involve supporting the girl in their home environment and in the local community. The girl has a great imagination and loves to engage in various activities including:
•Water based play
•Art activities
•Swimming
•Sensory
•Trips to the Local Aquarium (Fish are a keen interest of the girl)
Experience of supporting children living with a disability including Epilepsy awareness/management is essential for this role.
A full driving licence and access to own vehicle with adequate business insurance is advantageous.
