The manager’s role is to increase and improve, sell and deliver the company’s services.
Profile
You will need to be a ‘people person’ with a positive attitude who can lead and motivate a team and delegate to and offer support to team members clearly and effectively.
You will need to be committed to being part of a small, close-knit team and working pro-actively towards the continuing development and success of the business.
You will need to be commercially aware with strong communication, negotiation and client facing skills.
You will need a sound knowledge and understanding of construction, excellent organisational and problem-solving skills together with good IT skills and literacy.
A background in engineering or construction is required for this role. Experience in building site management or quantity surveying would also be acceptable.
Role & Responsibilities
You will be the named contact for most clients, architects, quantity surveyors, planning engineers, site managers and building contractors throughout a project.
Your main responsibilities include:
* Monitoring progress, cost and quality on all projects
* Organising the day to day scheduling of the work on hand
* Maintaining overall control of personnel and projects
* Undertaking site surveys, initially with others, to prepare quotations
* Re-negotiating pricing and timescales as necessary
* Championing high quality work
* Ensuring statutory health and safety obligations are met
* Maintaining client contact throughout each project
* Ensuring administration and accounts functions are thorough and efficient
* Identifying areas for improvement in all facets of the business and overseeing the implementation
You would mainly be office-based but some of your time would be spent travelling to sites and meeting clients, other construction professionals and contractors.
