We are looking for an enthusiastic
Production Engineer
to join our team to provide technical support to the Operations department to improve operations processes and resolve technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interface between Engineering and the Production teams helping to evaluate designs to reduce cost and improve ease of Assembly taking an active role in Design reviews.
* Provide engineering support and effectively dealing with engineering production problems and shortages, ensuring production delays are kept to a minimum.
* Develop build assembly flow diagrams to aid prototype assembly work.
* Develop assembly procedures, creating build check sheets and plan and coordinate production engineering processes to ensure high quality products are produced.
* Provide support to Engineering with implementation of CR's.
* Identify, develop and implement process improvements, implementing cost reduction initiatives to provide year on year cost savings.
* Development of tooling to aid assembly of equipment, assisting in the procurement of tooling, test equipment, jigs, and fixtures.
* Assisting the quality department with inspection and investigation activities.
* Aid in budget preparation and monitor expenses.
* Perform engineering analysis to reduce test equipment and production assembly equipment downtime and outages.
* Identify, develop and implement process improvements/best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability and supporting Continuous Improvement activities. Implementing cost reduction initiatives to provide year on year cost savings.
* Investigate problems, analyse root causes and derive resolutions.
* Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.
* Be an active member of the Continuous Improvement Team.
Skills & Experience
* At least 4 years' Relevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment and/or qualification such as BTEC/City & Guilds level 2
* Excellent technical drawing reading skills
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes
* Excellent computer skills
* Experience in the use of 3D CAD Software
