Service Care Solutions are proud to be working in partnership with a leading Housing Association, one of the South’s leading Housing Associations, to recruit an experienced Tree Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically skilled arboricultural professional to join a forward-thinking organisation committed to safety, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
Role Purpose You will be responsible for delivering expert arboricultural services across a defined geographical area. This includes conducting inspections, providing professional guidance, managing compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring tree-related risks to residents, employees, and property are proactively addressed.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver and manage arboricultural services, including inspections, reporting, and management advice in line with industry standards.
Provide specialist advice to colleagues, residents, and landowners, recommending appropriate courses of action.
Identify opportunities to improve policies, procedures, and customer service in arboriculture.
Analyse inspection data to inform management strategies for ash dieback and other threats.
Liaise with contractors to coordinate inspections, issue work orders, and monitor performance to ensure best value.
Support projects across services, protecting and managing trees as required.
Build effective relationships with stakeholders, local authorities, and government organisations.
Essential Requirements
Relevant arboricultural qualification – ideally Level 4 (or lower level with substantial experience).
In-depth understanding of tree health issues and risk-based management approaches.
Familiarity with BS3998 and BS5837 standards.
Experience managing tree assets in a large organisation or similar high-responsibility environment.
Strong background in contractor supervision, inspections, and report writing.
Competence using GIS and asset management tools for scheduling, reporting, and analysis.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills – including public engagement.
Ability to work independently and plan work in line with organisational priorities.
Confident liaising with local authorities and relevant external agencies.
A full driving licence may be required depending on the area covered.
Must be able to pass a Basic DBS check.
