This is a remote based role that will involve travel to business offices from time to time across the UK as per business needs. Purpose of the Role This exciting remote based Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer opportunity has arisen to join our IT Operations team to support the demands of the wider business, whilst maintaining all best practise standards and processes. This will be achieved in line with the business technology strategy and assist in providing a robust platform for the future growth of the business. What you will do This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more: Scoping, planning, documenting, and implementing of technologies as required to the highest standards. Deliver customer and stakeholder management to all those with an interest in any works undertaken. Guide the Infrastructure team as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance and knowledge to the wider team. Research Infrastructure solutions through internal and external knowledge base, as needed. Liaise with business, vendors and other IT personnel for the progression of change works. Escalate issues with accurate documentation to suitable technical expert or vendor, when required. Create knowledge articles for project solutions to be used for future support. Provide suggestions for continual improvement. Service-related focus with the ability to place yourself in the position of the customer to understand their concerns and issues. Provide mentorship and guidance to the Infrastructure Engineering team, taking direction from and reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Engineering. Who we are looking for This is an opportunity for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer or an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer who is looking to move up to a senior role – someone willing to work as part of a team and manage stakeholders at all levels. We are looking for someone has: 3 rd line support experience and managing support tickets that have been escalated to the infrastructure team. Knowledge and experience of cloud-based technologies. Demonstrable experience in using 3 rd party migration tools. Ability to analyse infrastructure, highlighting area of risk and put forward suggestions for systems improvements. General network and infrastructure monitoring knowledge. Storage platform and data migration experience. You will also need knowledge and experience of: Premise and Azure Active Directory Domain Services MS Azure IAAS and PAAS Office 365 and Exchange Online administration Device management using SCCM/inTune SQL Firewall and VPN IT security DFS SharePoint Infrastructure as Code – Terraform/Ansible/Bicep Virtulisation technology ITIL This is an opportunity for a self-disciplined individual with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, who can work independently but also as part of a team.
