Offer description

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in East Renfrewshire, is currently looking to recruit a Business Analyst for an initial 3-month contract on a day rate of £400/day Inside IR35. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.


Responsibilities:


- Undertake methodical business analysis to determine business requirements and support the design of effective business process through improvements in information management practices and procedures.

- Gather requirements and report findings on improving and standardising our approach to the delivery of high-quality digital services to our customers.

- Work closely with all relevant stakeholders within the organisation and other agencies to provide a highly effective analytic function undertaking detailed exploration and analysis for complex processes.

- Undertake impact assessments to identify operational and technical gaps in operating process, functionality and operating models and to ensure that improvement recommendations are sound.

- Identify and define improvement opportunities and potential business benefits and document these formally.

- Through process redesign identify ways to streamline and improve processes whilst ensuring consistency across services for the desired customer experience and maintaining functionality and transactions required.

- Prepare and facilitate requirement capture workshops that define needs that can be translated into business requirements.

- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders to understand key requirements and manage their expectations accordingly.

- Work closely with the Senior Business Analyst, Business, Project Management Office and ICT colleagues to direct and inform the quality capture of processes and requirements within the scope of the relevant project and programmes.

- Produce business cases that inform on the expected business benefits of new initiatives.

- Prepare and present data or intelligence to different audiences with confidence and in an easily accessible way, ensuring that any recommendations are well considered and supported by digital and business data.

- Work with the organisations programme and project teams to share business analyst approach and best practice.

- Ensure that documentation e.g. business process maps, integration maps, overall systems maps, roadmaps, user stories, business cases and specifications are all of high quality and in line with Enterprise Architecture principles.

- Ensure that information capture technologies are exploited to their fullest potential across the organisation to enable access to data to enhance decision making.

- Carry out any other duties as required.


Essential Skills:


- HNC/D or Degree in an appropriate subject and/or equivalent relevant work experience

- Experience of analysing and rationalising data from disparate business systems into aggregated information used to support tactical and strategic business decision making.

- Experience of mapping and modelling business and technical processes to support the "as is" status and "to be" outcome of business change programmes.

- A working experience of systems analysis, design and testing.

- Ability to prepare for and facilitate requirement capture workshops and elicit needs that can be translated into requirements and be able to define improvement opportunities.

- Experience of understanding customer requirements and delivering excellent customer service

- Experience of carrying out impact assessments to identify gaps in process, functionality and operating models and to use to demonstrate recommendations are sound.

- Experience of undertaking impact assessments to identify operational and technical gaps in operating processes, functionality and operating models.

- Demonstrate the ability to communicate in a clear and informative manner.

- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to address new techniques and ideas.

- Be able to deal confidently and tactfully with people at all levels in the organisation.

- Excellent understanding of customer requirements and provision of good customer service.

- Excellent organisational skills

- Able to effectively organise and prioritise workload

- Ability to keep abreast of organisational change

- Ability to resolve conflict

- Ability to analyse situations and take appropriate action

- Ability to coach and mentor both senior and junior colleagues in the methods used and interpretation of results

- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills

- Well-motivated and enthusiastic approach to work

- Self-starter and pro-active approach to problem-solving

- Disciplined approach to work

- Will work both as part of a team and individually, when required


Desirable Skills:


- Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis

- Service Design such as Scottish Approach to Service Design

- Project Management such as Prince2

- Service Management such as ITIL

- Ability to capture business requirements and the key data required as well as the coordination of user stories and initial high-level plans that include working with the business to understand the impact of initiatives on current and in-flight projects.

- Demonstrate experience of change and project management in an environment with various stakeholders.

- Ability to assist with new software releases and approve all User Acceptance Testing.

- Experience of agile, service design and user research techniques.

- Experience of risk management.
