Purpose of the Role:
We are looking for a graduate level, or recent graduate to fulfil the role. The technical work you will do during initial commercial interactions is key to ensure the rest of the team can operate effectively and deliver the customer's order. You will take customer enquiries and work with the sales team to turn them into fully formed and costed engineering plans for the rest of the organisation to execute upon. You will work with other departments like engineering and manufacturing, and use your own problem-solving skills to solve procurement, design, and estimation issues. The role will require you to be able to facilitate, plan, challenge and creatively solve problems in order to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
The successful candidate will be a 'Completer' by nature.
This will include management of the front end of the company systems. The successful candidate will obtain excellent knowledge of the company processes and operations, allowing them to effectively assess the feasibility of request from customers. Processing and building of technical quotations for customers will be the first input into the system. The role will focus on accurate management of the ERP system, ensuring data is informing all departments appropriately. Project/Order Planning and Scheduling will be critical, to ensure parts are purchased at the appropriate times to allow production manager to complete the work and allowing for any post-processing activities.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Feasibility assessment of projects and customer requests
• Building of accurate and detailed technical quotations, understanding the parts, materials, machines and commercial requirements for the quotation.
• Ensuring gross margin targets are met across the business and the Operations Manager and Commercial Manager have approved.
• Ensuring departments and responsible personnel provide required information on time to achieve deadlines.
• Informing purchasing with accurate information.
• Loading of jobs/works orders, ensuring accurate information informs on time delivery and 100% quality products.
• Maintain Business Intelligence reports, reporting data to the Operations Manager for presentation to the senior leadership team and the board of directors.
• Processing of sales orders.
• Administration of the ERP system
• Supplier relations
• Create/update documents
• Ensuring conformance to ISO 9001:2015
• If required, to support in other departments when required
• Responsible for general housekeeping within their area
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum requirement of bachelor's degree in engineering, at a level of 2:1 or above.
• A 'Completer' by nature.
• Knowledge of ERP systems desired but not essential as full training required.
• Competent user of common Microsoft platforms, including excel. PowerBi advantageous but not essential.
• Knowledge of Jira advantageous, but not essential as full training given.
• Comprehensive understanding and experience of creating efficient work etiquette.
• Strong motivated mindset with a proven track record of managing day to day responsibilities.
• A strong analytic skill set with the ability to interpret data.
• Be able to work to strict deadlines.
• Good time management and attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of standards and efficiency on responsible duties.
