About The Role
Are you ready to play a crucial role in ensuring safety and compliance? As a Fire Safety Officer, you will be the guardian of our fire and safety equipment, ensuring everything is in top-notch condition. Your responsibilities will include:
* Regularly monitoring and maintaining fire safety equipment, including conducting weekly fire alarm tests and visual inspections of fire extinguishers across all venues.
* Performing thorough fire safety checks and compiling monthly reports to enforce fire safety regulations, sharing best practices with the team.
* Maintaining the Fire Safety portal and Logbook to ensure compliance with our Fire Policy.
* Providing Fire Warden training to team members, enhancing their understanding of fire safety.
* Collaborating with external contractors and liaising with the Fire & Rescue Service to ensure our resort meets all fire regulations.
* Investigating fire incidents and near misses, offering guidance to prevent future occurrences.
* Contributing to new builds and modifications by advising on fire safety requirements and conducting Fire Risk Assessments.
* Ensuring each venue has at least one fire drill per year.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* IT literate with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.
* A team player who can also take initiative and make decisions independently.
* Flexible and willing to work on health and safety projects, including weekends.
* Organized, able to prioritize workloads, and manage projects effectively under pressure.
* Professional and discreet when handling confidential information.
* Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Qualifications and Training
To thrive in this role, you should ideally have:
* The NEBOSH Fire Certificate (if you don’t have it yet, you’ll need to complete it within your first year).
* Experience in Fire Risk Assessment.
* A training qualification (preferred but not essential; training can be provided).
* A willingness to undertake the Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
