The Role:
Please note that this role sits with Hampshire Youth Justice Service
The Youth Justice Service is a multi-disciplinary team which works with children and young people aged 10-18 years old who have offended and are made subject to a range of community and custodial disposals and their parents/carers.
Within the team there are a wide range of professionals including specialist practitioners in mental health, Police, Probation, Social Care, Restorative Justice and Education, Training and Employment. This combined multi- disciplinary team allows Hampshire Youth Justice Service to function at the highest level.
What you’ll do:
1. Provide support to parents and carers on a voluntary and statutory basis, completing a range of preventative and targeted intervention.
2. Undertake assessments of parenting to identify, deliver, review and evaluate statutory and non-statutory interventions, including one to one and group work delivery.
3. Provide effective signposting to other services providing parenting or family support and ensure effective exit strategies are identified and delivered.
What we’re looking for:
You'll be organised, flexible and confident working with children, young people and families, including those facing complex or challenging situations. You’ll have strong communication, relationship‑building and IT skills, with the ability to assess needs, manage risk and produce clear, accurate records and reports. A good understanding of child development, safeguarding and effective interventions is essential, along with experience of working collaboratively across agencies.
Experience with parenting programmes, youth justice, social disadvantage or SEND is an advantage, as is a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
