Job Description:
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our cloud infrastucture is robust, scalable, and optimized for performance, while colaborating closely with development teams to deliver secure and efficient solutions.
What will I be doing:
As a Platform Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include supporting the deployment and scaling of our global cloud applications. Container orchestration, particularly with Kubernetes and other cloud-native tools, is a crucial aspect of this role. You will also advise development teams on optimizing the use of public cloud resources and support new applications as they transition to production. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
* Collaborating closely with development teams to ensure the infrastructure meets their requirements while promoting scalable application practices,
* Utilizing your expertise in container orchestration tools to facilitate the seamless deployment of applications, prioritizing reliability, observability, and performance,
* Staying current with the latest technologies, introducing innovative solutions to the team, and addressing operational challenges through strategic automation and optimization efforts.
What experience do I need:
You should have essential skills in scripting or application development, with proficiency in Python. Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, along with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies, is also important. A strong understanding of basic networking and security principles is crucial, as is the ability to methodically solve problems and analyse patterns in behaviour and logs. Additional skills include:
* Experience with continuous integration systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins is highly desirable,
* Proficiency in working with source control is also a must,
* Strong communication.
