An exciting opportunity had arisen to join the Press Office at Conservative Campaign Headquarters. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Night Duty Press Officer to join our dynamic team.
You will be responsible for:
1. Monitoring broadcast, print, and online media for breaking news and political developments
2. Producing and distributing detailed news summaries
3. Recording and transcribing political interviews
4. Engaging with media enquiries
5. Liaising with and supporting Special Advisers and other CCHQ colleagues
6. Assist with other Press Office tasks as required
Capabilities and skills required:
Essential:
7. Excellent written and transcribing skills
8. Solid organisational and oral communication skills
9. Strong IT skills
10. Excellent political judgement
11. Ability to work independently out of normal working hours
12. Adaptable to changing tasks as needed
13. Willing to develop and take forward new initiatives
14. A commitment to the Conservative Party
15. A degree or equivalent
Desirable:
16. Experience in a wider political role is desirable but not essential
Additional information: As a Night Duty Press Officer, your role involves working from 6pm until 2am Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working, on a fixed term contract.
